Gail Mooney, Director, Traill County Commission Representative

Gail Mooney has been a member of Traill County Economic Development Commission since 2008. Now in her second term as Chair for the organization, she finds it to be a rewarding and interesting experience. As a member of the business community, her natural enthusiasm for the long-term health of Traill County led her to first become involved with the Hillsboro Business Association. That association led to several community and professional volunteer interests.

A graduate of Hillsboro High School, Gail spent several years in Orlando, FL, where she attended college, graduating with a diploma in Industrial Arts. This formal education in graphic arts led her to a varied work background ranging from illustration to photography. Gail returned to the Red River Valley and opened a photography studio, MoonShot Photography, in rural Cummings. While re-establishing herself and a new business, she began to work with TCEDC as an administrative assistant and later worked with the Traill County Tribune in computer graphics and sales. In addition to owning MoonShot Photography, Gail is also currently employed with the Kelly Ink newspaper group as a technical coordinator.

Gail and her husband, Walter, have two children. Kate is an accountant specializing in health care, and Ryan is enrolled at Hillsboro High School. Gail is the Traill County Commissioner for District Three, eagerly working to bring a positive influence to the governing body of the county.
